Ecommerce Advice & Re-platform Product Owner
Bents Garden & Home were ready to re-platform their website from Magento to BigCommerce and were working with Space48 to do so. I’d worked with Space48 on the Garden Trading re-platform and as Bents were struggling to find the in-house resource to support such an important project, Space48 recommended they talk to me and a very happy partnership was formed.
Bents needed to integrate their ERP, OpSuite into BigCommerce and it has already been agreed that Patchworks would work as the middleware provider to accomplish that. I stepped in at the Requirements Gathering stage and helped Bents decide what functionality and features they needed in their new site, and the prioirty of those. As usual, compromises were needed in order to launch their website ready for the Christmas rush, and a roadmap for the future was developed.
We launched phase 1 of the website before Christmas as planned, and I’m happy to say I’m still working with Bents on the delivery of a continued improvements roadmap and ongoing ecommerce advice & support.
The site? Its faster, sleeker, has halved its bounce rate & increased organic traffic and conversion rates. However, in the interests of transparency, thats always going to happen over Christmas! Spring trading, garden furniture & inspirations are the next peak for Bents.
Bents are a wonderful Garden & Home destination with exacting high standards and wonderful customer service. Translating that online will continue to be our focus and guidung principal.
Delivering a great customer experience online is something I bring to all my projects. Having worked client-side and agency-side my ideal “home” is between the two. Ensuring that the client gets the best site possible by translating their requirments into clear & consise instructions for the agency and keeping open communication between the two is key. I have a background as a Head of Ecommerce and an Agile Product Owner for some of the UKs favourite brands and its in this space that I cab add real value.
BigCommerce is a really flexible platform but some of its out of the box features need a level of customisation in order to deliver the best customer experience - without this platform knowledge clients often dont know what to ask for or where to prioritse customisation in order to get the best solution for their budget.
