Ecommerce Start Up, Shopify. Project Manager & Product Owner

I joined the NiX start-up team as they were making decisions about which ecommerce platform to use and the complementary Tech Stack for their new start-up business. Nicola Harding & Co is a well established and highly thought-of Interior Design business, and they were launching Nicola’s own range of furniture products & accessories alongside re-launching their portfolio site.

Selecting Shopify was an easy decision to make and after introducing the team to Noughts & Ones (Shopify Agency for Sustainable Brands) and establishing that their sustainability and eco-credentials and values matched, the agency set about showing the NiX team how creative they could be with editorial pages using Shopify. As you can imagine, styling and innovation was important to this highly creative business which not only had to sell product, but also had to showcase the wonderful interior design projects undertaken by the Nicola Harding & Co team - they didnt want the site to look at all ‘templatey’ or like a ‘standard’ Shopify site.

Alongside Shopify, the project team chose Brightpearl, Klaviyo & Gorgias as ERP, Email Marketing and Customer Service platforms, respectively ,and we set about integration, setup and training ready for launch.

My role also covered project managing / supporting the wider team who were busy getting the products made in Portugal, setting up the tech stack, co-ordinating marketing, commissioning product descriptions & photography… they did a great job, the products are beautiful & the site content & styling displays them perfectly on a well designed and SEO-friendly website.

All in all, a fast moving, startup project that was a joy to work on, and a great example of what can be achieved with Shopify given the right level of creative collaboration and an in-sync client & agency team.
